Just a heads up regarding the growth of general unwarranted surveillance. You can make a pretty good case that the authorities simply don't have enough eyeballs to monitor everybody. But they know that as well, so my guess is that this is primarily to be used for industrial espionage. Spy agencies will turn over data to favored industries and insider traders to give them the edge over competition.
