I talked to your daughter today about the taurus. What has happened is similar to vapor lock only in the cooling system. on the drivers side is a purge valve right above the trans bellhousing. There is or should be a valve stem that has to be open during the fill process to bleed out any air pockets which will occur when being filled while running. My suggestion to her is to just replace the motor or spend time to disassemble the top end of the motor and prepare to do a reconditioning or machining of both heads and new gaskets. Its easier and cheaper to replace the motor vs repairing it, Its less time consuming and will have it running alot sooner.
