A Nation Of Sheep:
In 1960, William J. Lederer wrote a book entitled A Nation Of Sheep. In it he wrote, "Today we are a nation of fair-weather citizens who serve their country only if they receive financial security and vast luxuries, of sloths who try to bribe neutral nations into cooperation, We are nation of people who are afraid to speak up on unpopular issues and who clamor for leisure time without knowing how to use it, whose self-indulgence has blinded us to the real dangers of our time.
The defeat of America need not be accomplished by destructive weapons and violence. There are easier and cheaper ways of conquering a politically incompetent nation. It can be accomplished by psychological weapons, by economic strangulation, by political chicanery, by intellectual subversion."
